Position: Legal Personnel Specialist
Comp Package: Base to $80K, Full Benefits, Bonus, 401K+, etc.
Location: New York City
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating the onboarding process for new hires, including the conflicts clearance process, review and verification of background checks and transcripts
- Coordinate details related to associate arrivals: maintain master lists; process reimbursements; coordinate all mailings; process employment verifications; respond to inquiries
- Act as a point person for new hires upon their arrival; coordinate with travel department and relocation companies
- Work closely with immigration counsel to secure U.S. work authorization for incoming associates, current associates and foreign associate attorneys
- Assist with budget review and preparation of year-end budget
- Working closely with Directors and Managers on various initiatives and programs including associate feedback, work-life balance and retaining associates
- Preparing and completing various Firm surveys and questionnaires
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4+ years of Legal Personnel experience in a global law firm
- Ability to work and interact with attorneys at all levels
- Excellent organization and communication skills, in addition to superior judgment
- Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask
- Ability to problem-solve and successfully meet deadlines
- Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information
- Flexibility to work overtime and travel as needed
