Position: Facilities Director
Location: New York City
Company: Elite International Law Firm
Comp Package: Base to $220K, Full Benefits, Bonus, 401K+ Match, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Firm move of 350,000 sq. ft in conjunction with operation and management team
- Oversee, conduct and document regular facilities inspections while allocating the management of facility space
- Manage contractor/vendor relationships, coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers
- Work closely with architects, contractors and consultants to manage construction projects
- Develop, implement and maintain the facility management program
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards including all Local Law standards and codes
- Work closely with Landlord on day-to-day building maintenance issues/requests including janitorial services and building and fire department compliance
- Oversee smooth running of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, cleaning exterminating and marble/metal maintenance
- Obtain quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers to calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness
- Oversee preparation and tracking of departmental and capital budgets
- Manage staff/HR related functions
- Develop and implement changes to department policies and procedures
- Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related finances, contracts, expenditures and purchases
- Working closely with the Director of Operations on real estate related projects involving Firm’s space acquisitions as well as daily tenant related issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction, Project or Facilities Management
- 10+ years of related professional experience within a corporate environment
- 5+ years of management experience
- Knowledge of principles and practices of project management and business administration
- Demonstrated experience in managing staff who maintain electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting architectural and construction drawings
- Working knowledge of procurement and contracts
- Solid knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations
- Strong computer and technical systems knowledge including the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong negotiation skills, financial acumen and ability to analyze and solve problems effectively
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines
- Strong commitment to excellence and customer service orientation
- Ability to lead, work independently, and be a team player
