Position: Business Development Manager
Comp Package: Base to $170K, Full Benefits, Bonus, 401K+ Match, etc.
Location: New York City
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support Business Development Operations with presentation development, pitches and responses to RFPs
- Work with team members and partners to prepare and maintain up-to-date practice descriptions, capability statements, engagement lists and other business development materials
- Manage and oversee practice and client events, including strategically developing agendas and panels with partners, working with speakers and implementing/overseeing logistics
- Prepare marketing materials; assist Attorney’s with market research, copywriting, editing of materials
- Assist in managing and maintaining the Firm’s engagement database and maintain deals and case experience across other channels
- Provide competitive intelligence reports and analysis of and related to clients and potential clients
- Coordinate the development, maintenance and production of marketing brochures, experience lists, and other materials promoting the Firm’ practices and Partners
- Prepare directory submissions, award submissions, and survey responses for various legal and business directories and publications
- Work with the Director and the Firm’s public relations resources to support public relations efforts including key corporate events, such as speaking engagements, business association networking, writing opportunities, and media events
- Assist Senior Team members to coordinate, support and maintain Business Development Operations and systems including the Firm’s databases, website and related applications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred
- 2+ years practicing law
- 5+Business Development in an international law firm environment
- Experience cultivating and managing client relationships
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment and effectively present information verbally and in writing
- Work collaboratively in a team environment working with Partners, multiple seniority levels and departments
- Build professional relationships while maintaining a high level of customer service, diplomacy and discretion
- Proactively identify and analyze problems, develop solutions and deliver results
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment
