Administrative Manager

Position: Administrative Manager
Company: AM 100 International Law Firm
Location: San Francisco, Bay Area
Comp Package for Administrative Manager: Base salary to $150K, Bonus, Full Benefits, 401K+, Tuition Reimbursement, work from home option, etc.

Responsibilities for Administrative Manager:

  • Provide leadership and manage the daily functions of the administrative staff in the San Francisco and Palo Alto offices
  • Coordinate and monitor assignments, workflow, performance reviews, recruiting and training/orientation
  • Oversee recruitment and orientation of newly hired staff, conduct 30, 60, 90 day feedback, lead staff meetings and work with the Review Committee
  • Monitor and approve work schedules, attendance and records, develop training programs, cross-training opportunities, identify and address performance issues, including conducting disciplinary actions
  • Monitor and ensure productivity and an equitable distribution of the workload. Ensure adequate staffing as needed after hours, weekends and holidays. Pre-approves administrative overtime and monitors overtime levels
  • Assign assistants to attorneys, discusses proposed arrangements and monitors the assignments to ensure they are working effectively
  • Implement the policies of the Firm in a fair and consistent manner. Conduct regular meetings with department staff as appropriate and communicate and work effectively with other managers, attorneys and staff

Qualifications for Administrative Manager:

  • 5+ years of leadership and supervisory experience in a law firm, consulting or professional services firm overseeing administrative or support staff
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, the ability to adapt to change, and demonstrate a client service orientation
  • Must be skilled at problem resolution, show strong competence in staff management and demonstrate the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • Maintain confidentiality, act in a fair and equitable manner and be able to interact effectively with individuals on all levels of the firm’s business
